Facilitation Consultant for the Cihuapactli Collective
I. Introduction
The Cihuapactli Collective, rooted in ancestral and traditional knowledge, is seeking a skilled Facilitation Consultant to act as a neutral party in fostering equity, effective communication, and collaboration among potential collaborators representing diverse organizations with varying cultural and racial/ethnic backgrounds. The Consultant will play a crucial role in building capacity and facilitating discussions to enable the Cihuapactli Collective to create space to have conversations around clarity & working relationships. The Cihuapactli Collective will also engage pre-development consultants for the design and implementation of a future affordable and accessible larger-scale development project, including the establishment of a wellness center and a food forest.
II. Objectives
The selected Facilitation Consultant will be tasked with the following objectives:
Facilitate Collaborative Discussions: Act as a neutral facilitator to enable open and constructive discussions among potential collaborators, ensuring all voices are heard and fostering a sense of equity.
Capacity Building: Work with the Cihuapactli Collective to build the capacity of participating organizations and individuals in effective collaboration and communication.
Potential Collaborative Agreement: Assist in the conversations and possibility of developing of a future collaborative agreement.
Pre-Development Planning: Facilitate the process of engaging pre-development consultants for the design and implementation of the larger-scale development project, including the wellness center and food forest.
III. Background
The Cihuapactli Collective is dedicated to inclusively empowering families through four sacred bundles or guiding principles: Cultural Revitalization & Education, Food Justice & Land Restoration, Birth Equity & Reproductive Justice, and Mental Health & Integrative Wellness. The Collective's purpose is to provide healing for urban Indigenous Peoples from the diaspora by sharing wisdom, connecting resources, revitalizing traditional knowledge, and advocating for health & wellness. It supports the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual self-determination of Indigenous Peoples from womb to tomb.
IV. Proposal Submission
Interested consultants are invited to submit a comprehensive proposal that includes:
Overview: An introduction to the consultant, including relevant experience in facilitating collaborative processes and working with diverse communities.
Methodology: A detailed methodology outlining how the consultant plans to achieve the objectives outlined in Section II.
Timeline: A proposed timeline for the facilitation process from January to March 2024, including key milestones.
Budget: A detailed budget that includes the consultant's fees, travel expenses (if any), and any other associated costs.
References: Contact information for at least three references from organizations or projects with similar scope and focus.
V. Proposal Deadline
All proposals must be submitted by April 12th, 2024 by 5 pm, electronically, to Maria Parra Cano at Carmen@CihuapactliCollective.org
VI. Evaluation Criteria
Proposals will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
Experience and Expertise: Relevance of the consultant's experience to the objectives of the Cihuapactli Collective.
Methodology: Clarity and feasibility of the proposed methodology.
Timeline: Practicality and achievability of the proposed timeline.
Budget: Reasonableness of the proposed budget in relation to the scope of work.
References: Positive feedback from references.
