Our Sacred Duty to Mother Earth
In many Indigenous cultures around the world, the Earth is honored as Mother because she is seen as the original life-giver that provides the water, soil, and nourishment that sustains all beings. This is a relational understanding and a reflection of reciprocity: just as a mother cares for and nurtures her children, the Earth cares for and sustains all life. If she gives to us, we have a responsibility to care for her in return. Our sacred duty to Mother Earth is an act of reverence and connection, rooted in ancestral traditions that recognize the Earth, not as an object, but as a living relative.
This year will consist of interactive & engaging workshops revolving around the following themes:
Cultivation in the Desert / Land Stewardship
Climate: Water/Heat/Location
Health
Advocacy
Workshops will be ran by local farmers and community members

FAQs
Will there be a livestream?
1
We are committing to focus on an in person experience only, with the intent that we will share much of the same knowledge throughout the year through various workshops.
Will there be parking?
2
Yes! We will have designated areas for staff, volunteers and vendors. We will provide more information for general parking soon which will all be free.
Can men attend the Womb Wellness Gathering?
3
Absolutely! This is a space for the entire family and for all types of families. We began as a birthwork organization, hence the Ancestral Womb Wellness Gathering title and over the years we have made an emphasis on womb care being something that everyone in our community can be a part of. In addition, there are many factors that impact womb care as well as different understandings of how we hold a womb space in many of our cultural and spiritual practices. All are welcome to this space.
Is it okay to only attend a portion of the event?
4
Yes! We would love it if you could stay for the entire event, but please take care of your needs.
Will there be childcare?
5
No, but there will be a child activity area. Because this year’s event is outdoors, with limited enclosed areas we decided to have an open activity area for kids to be accompanied by caregivers.
If you have any other questions please feel free to email enjolie@cihuapactlicolelctive.org
About the Word Womb
Cihuapactli Collective is committed to making our annual gathering a place where two-spirit, queer, transmen, transwomxn, and gender-non-confirming individuals, parents, and families are welcomed. We recognize that our collective has historically been a cis-gender collective of hetero and queer womxn of color. We also recognize we have centered gender and reproductive words like “womb.” Since our inception, we have deeply valued the opportunity to learn and grow with the community that now surrounds us. A few years ago at one our gatherings, it was addressed the need to engage in critical conversations and reflection about the use of “womb” in our gathering’s name. After several community discussions, we have decided that the name of the gathering will remain the same as we engage in further dialogue. We believe we still have a lot to learn from the womb as our ceremonial center, as our collective temazcalli. Overall, we hope that this gathering creates a safe space for shared wisdom, wellness, and rest. We appreciate your continued support and feedback.
