Serene Augustain is the founder of Atoctli Birth & Wellness, a birth and postpartum doula, and a student midwife dedicated to supporting families through life’s most meaningful transitions. She offers holistic, heart-centered care rooted in both traditional Indigenous and ancestral wisdom and evidence-based science. Serene’s philosophy is that birth and postpartum are sacred ceremonies—times to feel respected, supported, and nurtured in both body and community. Her background includes certifications in Birth and Postpartum Doula Care (Wombs of the World), Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PSI), and Loss and Bereavement (Cihuapactli Collective). She also holds a B.S. in Kinesiology and is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and Nutrition Coach.

I am a Diné and Seminole Indigenous wellness practitioner and doula serving tribal and urban Native families across Arizona. For more than 20 years, I’ve supported our communities through ceremony‑aware, trauma‑informed care that centers Indigenous women, parents, and youth.
My doula work weaves together Medicine Wheel teachings, somatic healing, breathwork, and story, with a strong focus on MMIW/MMIP safety, historical trauma, and Indigenous family preservation. I walk with families through pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and systems‑involvement (CPS/courts), helping them stay connected to culture, land, and kinship while navigating Western health and child welfare systems.
I offer in‑person support in Central and Northern Arizona (Prescott Valley, Camp Verde, Payson and surrounding areas) and virtual support for Indigenous families across Arizona.
